I decided to make my own dimensional squares to use with my card making and traditional European decoupage. Usually, dimensional adhesive is made with foam, which is not Eco-friendly. To make your own, just start with a piece of cardboard or chipboard. The cardboard will give you thicker dimension similar to foam squares. Chipboard will give you a little dimension, but it won’t be as pronounced. This may be what you want with a card so that it won’t be so thick.
Next, you add double sided adhesive to both sides of the cardboard. I used some that I got on sale at the Schaumburg Stamp and Scrapbook Convention from Elizabeth Craft Designs. It came on a large roll, so that makes it more economical. You can use whatever brand or size you want.
Finally, you need to cut the board into squares. If you are using cardboard you will need to use a guillotine style paper cuter or heavy duty scissors. I used my Tonic scissors as well as my guillotine cutter. If you use chipboard, you may be able to use a rotary style cutter. Then your squares are ready to use in your craft projects.
